Unfortunately, we are unable to take in any pets that are in heat, pregnant, or nursing.
This is due to the inherent risks associated with the grooming process, specifically bathing a female dog in heat. During the heat cycle, there is a greater chance of bacteria and debris entering the reproductive organs and causing serious infections. While considering your pet’s health, it is our best practice to wait until the end of the heat cycle. This is when the external organs are less swollen and bleeding has stopped, before bathing to minimize the risk of infection.
If your dog is in or due to go into heat, please reschedule your appointment with the appropriate 24 hours notice. If we do not have the appropriate notice to reschedule, the appropriate last minute cancellation fee will apply.

Our goal is to make your dog’s grooming experience as stress free as possible. Where feasible, we work to de-mat/brush out the dog's coat, but only when it would not cause excessive pain and suffering to attempt to do so.
De-matting is the removal of tangles and knots can be very difficult to remove and may require the pet to be shaved. Matting occurs when your pet’s coat is improperly cared for. De-matting can be painful and uncomfortable for your pet during and post groom.
Matted coats can cause a variety of skin and health problems including hot spots, irritated skin. The release of the skin and blood flow may result and uncover irritation, hematomas, itching, and redness, post grooming service.
Due to matting, your dog's hair may need to be shaved extremely short to the skin and may show signs of skin irritation and sores due to matting, wet undercoat, and dirty undercoat.
We do not suggest de-matting for more than 15 minutes. Extra brushing fees may be added to the overall service cost; $1 per minute and is required to be paid during pick-up.
If we find that the matting is too severe to be brushed out and needs to be shaved, we will inform you either at check in or during the de-mat process. Furthermore, if the dog is severely matted there will be a separate form to sign (Matted pet waiver form) to inform you in detail of what to expect of your pets grooming.
In some cases, understand that our groomers may advise for a reschedule if found that the pet is too severely matted. Additionally, we reserve the right to decline service in some circumstances.
Please be sure to speak with our groomers for the best methods of maintaining your dog's coat and prevent future matting.
